Remedial Massage

Remedial massage assist in rehabilitation, pain & injury management. A variety of  manual therapy techniques may be employed in treatments, such as deep tissue massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques, Direct /Indirect Myofascial Techniques, & Neuromuscular Facilitation, light touch massage, thermotherapy as well as other techniques deemed appropriate by the therapist in treating the presenting problem. An assessment before & after will help determine outcomes & improvements from the treatment.

Treatments often require more than one session. A treatment plan will be developed with you at the initial appointment.

Advice regarding posture, alignment, body positioning, correct manual handling/lifting & core activation are other strategies that are often discussed during a remedial massage treatment. Tamara's dual training as an Exercise Physiologist & Massage Therapist provides the unique experience to glean expertise in different disciplines.

Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP's) are university qualified allied health professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills & competencies to design, deliver & evaluate safe effective exercise interventions for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities. Pathologies often covered by AEP services include cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, musculoskeletal, cancers, kidney, respiratory / pulmonary & mental health as well as any other conditions where there is evidence that exercise can improve clinical status.
